The IIJL World U20 Lacrosse Championship is the Tier II tournament for promotion into the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. Accordingly, the IIJL World U20 Lacrosse Championship also serves as the relegation destination for the team finishing in last place at the IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship.
