| ABOUTEstablished in 2019, the inaugural IIJL Commonwealth Cup was scheduled to take place in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in March 2020 but was canceled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Three years later, the 2023 IIJL Commonwealth Cup will finally take place. For the second consecutive year the IIJL Commonwealth Cup will take place, February 17-20, 2024 and will be hosted by the Altona Lacrosse Club at the beautiful Allan Lewer Box Court. TEAMS
Australia (Australian Box Lacrosse) and Canada (Canadian Lacrosse League) will compete for the 2024 IIJL Commonwealth Cup. Prior to facing-off for the winner-take-all Final, Canada will take part in a four (4) team Round-Robin against city/state teams from Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth. Players from the Australian city/state teams will then be selected to play for Australia in the 2024 IIJL Commonwealth Cup Final.
HOST
Altona Lacrosse Club will host the 2024 IIJL Commonwealth Cup. Altona Lacrosse Club is the only Men's and Women's lacrosse club in Victoria that has full use of its facilities 12 months of the year. The Club has four lacrosse specific playing fields, one of which can be used for night games, and the newly constructed Alan Lewer Box Court with floodlights.
